Mac news with an attitude included at no extra charge. That's what makes MacToday such a good read and so reminiscent of your old user group pub. There's plenty of good news about the Mac , plus a good deal of snickering at the naysayers. Opinions abound along with reviews, help columns, and more. Show price: ten bucks for six issues. It's even on the newsstands in Boston. Check it out. |

Peachpit Press' Web Design WOW! Book Most books deconstructing web pages are junk: ill-conceived quickies. This is the one to buy if you want to see how the high end graphic designers put together the best websites. A well-organized tour not of bells/whistles but of fundamentals, white space, navigational theory, and content: the wizards of web take you behind the curtain. Peachpit has done several WOW! books and they're all great working tours. This title is the high watermark thus far. |

GCC's Elite 12/600 Laser Printer Let's get right to the point. How about all the features of a $1500 laser printer for $999? GCC laser printers are the highest quality, lasting ten years easy. In fact the only reason I know people replace a GCC printer is for the newer features. Ethernet in addition to the standard connections, 600dpi, straight paper path choice, a fold out loader that takes a short stack of paper/envelopes, all in a workhouse unit. Is it worth $999? No. It should cost more. |
