2. The Saguaro cactus is the poster plant for the Sonoran Desert in the US: the northern limit of this desert. Most of the Sonoran Desert is in Mexico.
The densest concentration of the Saguaro occurs around Tucson AZ in the Saguaro National Monument. It's a forest. This photo is from that area but not angled to show that well. This is an interesting and typical armed cactus... the kind you see with a face or a hat or a-waving at customers from a Mexican restaurant menu. It seems if we can see ourselves easily in other plants and animals, why we'll do the Disney. Can we see ourselves living in the world of the Saguaro? |
